The Yamaha FZ16 (called Byson in Indonesia) is a standard motorcycle made by Yamaha since 2008. The FZ16 is modelled after the larger FZ1 with a scaled down engine capacity. The FZ16 is primarily sold in India, and other markets such as Indonesia, Colombia and Argentina.

The kerb weight of the bike is 126kg, with a length of 1975 mm, height of 1045 mm and a width of 770 mm.

The engine of Yamaha FZ-16 is a bi-valved 153 cc, air-cooled, single overhead camshaft engine (SOHC).  It gives an envious output of 14 PS and a peak torque of about 13.6 Nm. Yamaha FZ-16 breathes through a BS26 carburetor and is neither fuel injected nor oil cooled; but working under negative pressure.

The 12-liter stainless steel tank has a plastic cover to give it that a molded look and reflects the perfect dynamic and muscular image of the bike.

It has a large disc brake on the front which helps with great braking power and high-end balance.

The Mono-cross suspension at the rear, inner tubes in the front and 41mm hydraulic forks provide excellent shock absorption typical of Yamaha craftsmanship and gives  riding pleasure during those long rides for the rider and the pillion. Not to mention adding stability to the bike as well.

Both, rear and front tyres are tubeless with the rear tyre having an aspect ratio of 60 per cent.  The rear tyre specifications is 140/60-R17, while that of the front tyre is 100/60-17.

The fully digital speedometer and all other measuring indicators including the odometer, fuel gauge and the tachometer have a Liquid Crystal Display for clearer vision.
